Three Valleys Cycle Tour

4 to 8 days - Supported Independant Cycling Tour

Cycling is the best way to admire these valleys, bringing you closer to the landscape and its people, the history and culture. Dordogne is in South West France, and is famous so far for its gourmet cooking, chateaux and prehistoric caves.

Your cycle route will take you past wonderful vestiges of a medieval past, along valleys once roamed by man 20,000 years ago, and into the kitchens of gastronomy. You will gain a respect for the earth that provides nourishment, the rivers that flow endlessly westwards, and the people whose rich lives are inter-twined with nature.

Put your best pedal forward and feel the breeze on your face across this enchanting land.
Nothing to do with this tour, but at least they are smiling

    The Region
The Dordogne Valley was a popular playground during the Hundred Years War. 100s of castles were built, and many remain today as memorial insights to medieval life. During this tour, you will experience the grandeur of these great feudal domains, approaching by their flanks, and appearing victorious at regular intervals. The Céou ("say-oo") Valley is a delightful tract sweeping due south from the Dordogne River. Your tour passes through here on the last day before arriving at Sarlat.
The Vezere Valley played host to prehistoric man 20,000 years ago. Pre-history cave paintings, and sculptures abound with the likes of Lascaux II and Font de Gaume. On this tour, there will be time to splatter in the primeval muds and lurk in this epi-centre of pre-history.
